Jan is a researcher at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), where he models sustainable land-use pathways. He also investigates the power of games to inform and influence consumer choices and, in turn, ways to use player behavior to inform and improve land-use models. As part of the newly founded indie studio, Terragami, Jan has combined several of his passions and set out to develop fun and empowering games clearly communicating both the need for climate action and ways to become involved. He holds an M.Sc. in Integrated Climate System Sciences, a B.Sc. In Physics, and a B.A. in Online Journalism and Media. Jan has worked as game content editor and social analyst for KaiserGames and ZeniMax Online Studios, before shifting his focus to physics and climate sciences and finally science communication through games.
